For more than 20 years, No Strings has worked in some of the world’s most difficult settings, using film and puppetry to help children and their families explore serious issues in ways that feel safe, engaging and human.

What began as an unusual collaboration between humanitarian workers and artists from the original Muppet Show has grown into a distinctive approach used across both humanitarian and development settings.

Our work has taken us from conflict and disaster response to programmes addressing health, child protection, disaster preparedness, psychosocial wellbeing and community safety. Different subjects and different settings, but the same belief runs through them all: children learn powerfully through play, imagination and participation. We believe these are not a distraction from serious work. Very often, they are what make serious work possible.
