Flood & Landslide
Badu has just sold his hillside of ‘worthless’ trees to an illegal logging company. It’s raining, hard, but after four full days and nights of downpour, he’s all cosy at home, enjoying his new riches. What does Badu care? He ventures out for a takeaway meal, chuckling to himself; the great thing about being rich is you don’t have to cook, and you don’t have to wash up! He throws his empty cartons into a drain. The trees all gone, his house now stands on a very bare-looking hillside, which is suddenly looking unstable. As the rains continue, the villagers climb to high ground. Then … oh no! They see the hill above Badu’s house has collapsed, taking his house with it. A landslide! Again, help comes his way, and Badu finds himself lucky to be alive. Not so fast, though Badu, you have to boil water before you drink it when there’s been a flood … Oh dear, that’s going to make him sick. Later, as the waters subside, the Little Girl encourages everyone to replant the hillside and clear the drains of rubbish.
