Making Stick Puppets in Newcastle with Syrian refugee children

Syria Wallsend 2

No Strings has been working with Syrian refugee children in the North East of England this summer, watching our special films made for conflict-affected parts of the Middle East region and making stick puppets.

The work has supported social workers’ efforts to better understand how children and parents are settling since their arrival in the region some two months ago.

Future plans include shadow puppetry projects with older children, and working with parents, using both our films and special play techniques, to help highlight issues children might be facing.
